USED Alvarez K. Yairi WY1 "Bob Weir" w/case - CONSIGNMENT
6 String acoustic electric guitar featuring a Solid Cedar Top, Rosewood Back and Sides, 14th fret Mahogany Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard, rosewood direct coupled bridge, ebony string pins in very good condition with original hard shell case.
Originally designed with, and for, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, the WY1 is a fantastic acoustic guitar!
Featuring a slightly different body size, based around the Alvarez OM Series but with a bit deeper body.
The top wood is Solid AA Western Cedar paired with East Indian Rosewood back and sides gives you a large balanced sound that’s good for all different styles.
The one piece mahogany neck features a 14th fret body joint and extended dovetail construction to “maximize the energy transfer between the neck and body” and allows for a wider range of rod adjustment and decreases the risk of any neck/body irregularities.
“Further innovation comes with the Direct Coupled Bridge. This system displays the craftsmanship with which these guitars are made. The DC Bridge means the pins actually go into the top of the guitar, taking the vibration to the heart of the soundboard and simultaneously increasing the break angle from the saddle to the top. This increased down pressure raises string tension, giving the guitar a very responsive feel and adding quality to its volume and sustain.”
A very cool, great sounding and playing acoustic guitar. The neck profile is on the slim side, very comfortable.
This Consignment guitar is in Very Good condition with some light play wear, as seen in the pictures. No cracks or repairs.
Comes with Original Hard Shell Case.
