Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom '55 Hardtail Strat, Aged White Blonde
This only took an extra six months to show up, but well worth the wait. Speaking of weight, this one has a beautiful piece of ash that only comes to light 6.7 pounds. A rare and compelling find indeed, the Vintage Custom ’55 Hardtail Strat has all the tremolo-less charm needed to inspire any player, collector or aficionado. Start with a two-piece ash body finished in NOS flashcoat lacquer and add a one-piece rift-sawn maple neck with a 1954 “U” profile, vintage compound-fingerboard radius fingerboard (7.25”– 9.5”) and medium vintage 47095 frets.
Hand-wound 1955 Strat pickups with 1954 covers are wired to a vintage ’55 control assembly and five-way switch. Other features include Closet Classic hardware, single-ply eggshell pickguard, vintage-style hardtail bridge with patent pending saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and a disc string tree.
