This Telecaster build was inspired by a rare, but "it does exist" model from the 1950's.
The 1954 White Guard Two Tone Burst Telecaster!!
Aged in the Journeyman Style... A lightly aged and subtle relic look to the Nitro Finish that 'looks the part' without being over the top or too 'showy'.
This is a fantastic Telecaster!
If you like big neck profiles, this is for you! Featuring a 1954 "U" neck shape and vintage 7.25" radius.
The maple fretted neck features a light nitro finish with a medium tint.
Ash body features a beautiful Two Tone Sunburst finish, similar to a classic 1954 Fender Stratocaster. Single ply white Telecaster pickguard.
Pickups are Hand Wound No Caster '51 Telecaster pickups.
Harwdware features Vintage Style Fender Branded Machine heads, Vintage Fender '51-'54 Telecaster Bridge Assembly, '52 Knurled Chrome Control Knobs.
Wiring / Control Assembly is Fat 50's.
We've had quite a few Custom Shop Telecasters through the store and this is one of our favorites! Fortunately we, we have been able to compare neck/feel and look to an Original '54 White Guard Two Tone Burst Tele and they're pretty close!!
It plays great and sounds every bit the part that it's supposed to sound!
The Journeyman "relic" is fantastic - not too much wear with really authentic lacquer checking to the Nitro finish.
This was not a regular Custom shop model... this was something we ordered - almost like a 'Made to Measure' guitar. So once it's gone, it's gone!
Weighs in at 6lbs 15 ounces. A nice perfect comfortable weight.
Comes with Blonde Custom Shop Case, "Ashtray" bridge cover, build sheet and Leather Strap.
