USED Throbak Koss-301 MXV - Paul Kossoff Pickups Aged Nickel

ThroBak make great repro pickups and the attention to detail on the Paul Kossof set is incredible and they deliver the tone.
50 miles due North of Kalamazoo Michigan, ThroBak winds their pickups on vintage winding machines that were used at the original Gibson Factory. All their parts are made in the USA and the attention to detail, for all of their pickups, is astounding.
The current owner of the Paul Kossof Burst Les Paul, Kris Blakley, allowed ThroBak to examine the pickups forensically.
They determined, from the build - the steel bobbin screws and unique wind - that the pickups were wound on the old Meteor ME-301 machine... a machine that Throbak have (!) They used American repro Long Magnet, Block charged Alnico 2 magnets.
Coincendentally, these pickups share quite a few things with the legendary Peter Green Les paul.
Paul's pickups were a little hotter than the typical PAF pickup, adding to the aggressive sound that was produced.
The result, when A/B with the originals, is that they nailed the set.
