As originally designed for interviews/speech, especially where microphone length is an advantage and features a water resistant mesh grille for outdoors recordings.
Although it's more of a speech microphone, it can be used for musical applications too - want an old school drum sound? Great application when used a few feet from the drum kit as a room mic. Lots of options.
You could use this pair as overheads but you would not get the top end sizzle from the cymbals (great if you don't want that)
