Analog Transparent Overdrive pedal featuring controls for Gain, Treble and Output, highly collectible hand made in limited numbers in excellent condition with original box, battery, sales receipt and instructions/paperwork.
The hype is real and we’ve got the real deal.Highly collectible variant of the legendary guitar effects pedal designed and hand-built by Bill Finnegan, known as the “Pioneer” of the “transparent” overdrive pedal.
This version of the pedal features a sleek silver anodized pedal box with out the “Horse” graphic - the Centaur graphic that was featured on the early versions of the pedal.
The Klon features a deceptively simple three knob setup - Gain, Treble and Output.
-Gain: A dual-ganged potentiometer that simultaneously blends a clean boost signal with the overdriven signal while dynamically adjusting the frequency response.
-Treble: A highly responsive high-frequency EQ control that allows the user to subtlety dark or brighten the signal to cut through a live mix.
-Output: A massive master volume control capable of delivering an intense clean boost to push the front-end of a tube amplifier.
The beauty of the Klon, other than the tone, is that when you turn the gain down, it becomes a true Clean Boost unlike the usual suspects (like a Tube Screamer).
There’s also the bragging rights of owning one (!)
This is the ultimate “Transparent Overdrive” guitar pedal. There have been many (many and many) copies and versions of the Klon, but this is the OG.
There have been many myths about the Klon too - most notably that the circuit changed with the graphic/box colour but Bill (Finnegan), and Klon nerds, insist that that circuit remained unchanged through the years.
This Used, one owner, pedal is in excellent condition - almost like new. Comes with original Box, sales receipt, paperwork and the original Battery from Bill (!)
The Myth is no longer a Myth, it’s real and it could be yours! In the guitar world there’s the lore of the Gibson 1959 Burst. In the amp world there’s the coveted Dumble Amplifier and in the pedal world it’s the Klon.
Be the cool kid on the block and own an authentic Original Klon Centaur Professional Overdrive pedal!!
