USED Ibanez DMD2000 Digital Delay Rack Mount - CONSIGNMENT
Rack mountable Digital Delay, with modulation, from the 1980's.
The DMD2000 is often referred to as the Digital Delay but, in fact, it's the
Ibanez Digital Modulation Delay - DMD - with delay times from 0.1-2047 ms so essentially a Digital Delay with Modulation and delay times up to 2 seconds.
AND... it's programmable with the ability to save and recal different settings through Bank A and B.
Lower Bit Depth delays, from the early days of Digital Delays, are very hot/popular at the moment and here we have the real deal! 12 Bit Delay right here for you!!
Even though it's 30+ years old, it's got some really versatile options such as the phase reversal out and an effects loop - The send jack from the unit (input to external loop) comes after the first regeneration of the delay circuit and returns via the receive jack to the pre-mix stage. This offers as many possibilities as you have cyclic treatments.
The DMD was designed to be an excellent digital delay unit, which it is, but with the Modulation Feature you can achieve several other time based effects easily such as
Flanger, Chorus, Double Track, Slap Back, Hard Reverb and Long Echo.
It's a very cool Blast from the Past unit.
This Consignment item is in Very Good Condition with cosmetic wear - as seen in the pictures.
Currently, it doesn't have any rack ears - you will need to attach some to mount it in a rack.
Speaking of which - NOTE - These Units featured rather Large transformers which cause them to run a little warm, after some time.
There is a vent on top of the unit to prevent it from over heating (and I haven't heard of one actually over heating) but personally I would avoid mounting it in a rack sandwiched by other unites top and bottom.
