5 String solibody electric bass guitar featuring a single cutaway body shape, neck through construction with Ash wings, maple and bubinga centre piece, 24 fret neck, rosewood fingerboard, 2 passive Bartolini pickups with active electronics in very good condition.
The BTB685SC "Terra Firma" Electric 5 String Bass, with a rather unique single cutaway body shape. Part of the Ibanez "Bass Workshop" line.
At first, this bass might look a tad uncomfortable but not only is it comfy, you actually get easier access to the upper frets (!) even though the neck / body join is at the 12th -24th frets.
Featuring a neck thru-body construction... the "wings" are ash while the centre piece is a laminate of Maple and Bubinga. The top of the body wings features a rosewood cap.
The bass is a natural finish.
The body is a unique single cutaway shape, with the non cutaway side meeting the neck around the 12th fret all the way alongh to the 24th fret, with a deep carve for comfortable access to those uppser frets. "This design is said to maximize stability and provide increased sustain..."
Fretboard is rosewood with 24 frets and abalone position markers. Scale length is 35".
The bass is active but contains a pair of Bartolini BH1 Passive pickups along with an EQB-IIISC active preamp and 3 band EQ. There's a master volume, balancer a mid frequency switch/selector - to select 600hz or 250hz and an EQ Bypass mini toggle switch. The output jack is a side mounted Neutrik Locking Jack.
The bridge is really cool... it's 5 individual Mono Rail II bridges. All hardware is finished in Cosmo Black.
This is a Solid Bass! You wanted Bass? You got BASS. They made these (and 6 string versions) from 2014-2016. This one is from early 2014. Looks like they only made 5 and 6 string versions... I think the whole design would be lost on a 4 string version. You want that Low end with a Bass like this!
It has a full sound and susatins for days.
This Used bass is in Excellent condition with minor play wear, a few light surface marks/scratches.
So the question is... are you gonna hold out for the monster 6 string version (whenever you'll see one of those) or just go ahead and grab this 5 string???
