Six String acoustic guitar influenced by the Classic Gibson J200 Jumbo Acoustic, made in Japan.
The Ibanez Artist 2605 Jumbo 200.
Not really seen too often - we're normally seeing the 70's Ibanez Concord line of Acoustics that are closely resembling other Gibsons and Martin style guitars.
Not as many companies were doing a Jumbo / J200 style of guitar - Guild and Gibson had that sorted out between them. Takamine did a Guild copy, that they later received a stern letter for.
This Ibanez version is Fantastic and they sort of Future Proofed themselves - at least for the 70's - with the large unique headstock shape.
Featuring a solid spruce top, figured maple back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, with star inlays, rosewood bridge and the Ibanez "Smooth" tuners, also featuring the same Star motif.
Finished in a wonderful Cherry sunburst finish top, back and sides.
Along with the asthetics of the figured maple and star inlays are the headstock inlay, mother of pearl inlays around the soundhole and a very cool, almost navajo design inlay down the centre of the back.
This is a great acoustic - everybit the characteristics of an J200 Jumbo Acoustic.
Plays great, sounds great.
This consignment guitar is in very good++ condition with some play wear, marks from the past 40 (almost 50) years!
Some light lacquer cracking/flaking at the heel of the neck/body joint. Cosmetic, nothing structural going on.
Comes with period correct hardshell case.
