Both Martin and Gibson used to use Red Spruce, back in the pre war / pre 1945 days but the wood has become more scarce over the years and is only used sparingly on higher end guitars.
Finished in a light heritage cherry burst.
Along with the limited run of Red Spruce, this was "made to measure" with a blend of Vintage appointments and todays modern construction... an exclusive feature for Willcutt.
Red Spruce is a more flexible spruce and produces better bottom end repsonse and more volume.
This guitar features the mentioned Red Spruce top, along with solid Mahogany Back and Sides. Traditional scalloped X-Bracing,
The neck is Mahogany with a Bound Rosewood neck and 24.75" scale length and a rounded neck profile.
On board is the LR Baggs VTC Pickup System, providing a superior plugged in sound.
This is a loud, proud tone machine of an acoustic guitar and one, with these features, you won't see too often.
