USED Gibson 2008 ES 137 Blue Burst w/OHSC - CONSIGNMENT
6 String Semi Hollowbody Electric guitar featuring a Maple construction fitted with a Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, 2 humbucking pickups, Mahogany center block, finished in a limited blue burst in Excellent condition with Original Hardshell Case.
They offered 2 versions of this model, in 2008, the Classic (this one) and the Custom.
This ES-137 Classic is a "versatile semi hollowbody guitar that blends the looks of an ES-175 with the high output sustain of a Les Paul..."
Featuring a Laminate Figured Maple Top and Back with a 16" archtop body and a Mahogany Center block, to help cut down on feedback and increase sustain.
Finished in an eye catching "Blue Burst" to help the figured maple "pop". The Gold hardware and black, multi ply, pickguard gives this a real classy look with the blue burst.
Pickups are 490R and 490T providing a hotter output giving it the reputation of being a Semi Hollowbody Les Paul Traditional, but with a bigger body.
Some people refer to this model as a "Thinline" as it's not a full depth hollowbody.
It shares the same hardware as a Les Paul - from the 2 humbuckers to the Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop tail piece.
The neck is a 3 piece Maple neck featuring a bound rosewood fretboard fitted with 22 jumbo frets and a nice rounded neck profile. The single "florentine" cutaway gives you easier access to the upper frets. Scale length is standard 24.75". Along the fretboard are Gibson's Trapezoid inlays and a "C" inlayed at the 12th fret, denoting "Classic".
This is an awesome example of the guitars that were built at the now closed Gibson Memphis factory.
This Consiginment guitar is in Excellent condition with very little play wear and comes with the Original Hardshell Case.
the Gold pickup covers are starting to oxidize a little bit as with the gold Grover Rotomatic Tuners.
There's a very small blemish in the lacquer on the back of the neck, near the 12th fret, seen in photo.
