6 String solidbody electric guitar featuring an all mahogany body fitted with a mahogany neck, 22 fret rosweood fingerboard, 2 humbucking pickups, independent volume and tone controls, finished in Cherry red in Very Good Condition.
The Classic SG... "Solid Guitar, Spanish Guitar, Snow Goblin, Sneez & Gesundheit" A rose by any other name...
Weighs in at a very comfortable 7lbs!
This SG Hails from 1991... 35 Years Old (!?!). If 20 is "Vintage" then this is starting to get "Vintaage".
The early 90's SG's were a bot of a "return" to the standard SG. They moved the jack back up to the body, re-positioned the knobs and toggle switch and lowered the "Flower Pot" inlay on the headstock. The neck connects at the 18th fret.
This features an all Mahogany body construction with a deep cherry red, very deep and quite a bit darker than current/modern cherry Gibsons. The body shape is a bit of a return to beveld edges around the cutaways too, a little more bevelled on the bass side.
The mahogany neck is set in at the 18th fret and features a bound 22 fret fingerboard with a 1 11/16" nut width, 12" neck radius and a glorious rounded neck shape.
Tuners are Schaller "Gibson Deluxe" vintage style machine heads.
Pickups are a 490R and 498T. The deep cherry red body has the larger "Batwing" 5 ply pickguard. Everything is all finished in a Nitro Lacquer.
SG's are fun guitars, and this is no different. This one may a little toooo much fun.
This Used guitar is in Very Good+ condition with an average amount of play wear, mostly on the pickguard. The body doesn't show much in terms of play wear but it's gently worn and there's some awesome lacquer checking that we tried to get in the pictures. There's a slight bit of lacquer checking/crack at the top of the headstock.
A previous owner has left a little "message" of inspiration on the cavity control plate... we left it on there.
There's a small scratch on the back of the neck, very light to the touch.
Does not include a case.
