USED Gibson 1970 SG Custom 2 pickups Walnut w/OHSC - CONSIGNMENT
6 String Vintage Electric Guitar, circa 1970, featuring an all mahogany body, set in mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, 2 humbucking pickups, vibrola bridge in Good Condition with Hardshell Case.
In a few years time, this geetar will be 60 years old! And still rocking...
This fine guitar has been through some changes over the years, but there's a photo of the original owner playing it while it was more "Original".
Featuring an all mahogany Classic SG double cutaway body style, finished in natural "Walnut", fitted with a set Mahognay neck with 22 fret bound ebony fingerboard, mother of pearl block inlays and 12" radius.
The neck features the Gibson Volute behind the nut, at the time a recent addition to their neck design and a multi binding headtsock with split diamond inlay.
The neck profile is a slim taper "C" shape and an approx 40mm nut width.
Originally, this SG Custom had 3 T-Top Humbucking pickups, with Gold covers, and a 3ply white "Batwing" large pickguard.
The pickguard has been changed to a 3 ply black batwing SG guard, fitted for 2 humbucking pickups.
The 2 pickups are the original gold cover T-Tops, current owner is unsure what happened to the 3rd missing pickup.
The original tuners have been replaced with Grover Rotomatics.
Original bridge and Vibrola Tremolo system.
This Consignment guitar is in Good++ condition - as seen in the picture, there's a fair amount of lacquer checking from years of use.
It's the real "Murphy Lab relic", from years and years of being played.
This guitar has Vibe to it. A very cool Vintage Gibson SG... still a custom, just shy one pickup!
