Product Description

Vintage 6 String Soildbody Electric guitar, circa 1965, from Gibson featuring an all mahogany construction, 2 P-90 pickups, Vibrola trem and non original case in Excellent condition.

There's something about Specials... SG or Les Paul... those P-90 pickups attached to a slab of mahogany just sounds amazing. Gibson got it right back then and today!
If you have any doubt about that, just listen to The Who's Live at Leeds.

1965 was a very transitional year for Gibson... changing up construction methods, hardware, neck shapes and - as in this case - Nut Widths.
This SG Special features the 1 9/16" Narrow nut width, the most narrow nut width offered on a Gibson Electric guitar.
The neck is a Slim Tape "C" shape, with a bound rosewood fingerboard and original Kluson 3 per line tuners.

Original P-90 pickups and wiring harness/pots - pots date to April 1965.
Wrap around bridge with short vibrola and arm.

All knobs and switch/poker chip are original.

The Original Cherry finish has faded a bit over time and lost a bit of the deep cherry over the years.

The Case is an original 1970's Gibson SG Case... and it's Gorgeous!!! Yes, it's not from the 60's but it's worth the price of admission!! Smuftastic.

This Consignment guitar is in Excellent condition with some play wear and small divet wear in the rosewood board within the first few frets.
Comes with '70's Gibson SG Case.
