The S1 Switch, located on the "Neck" pickup Volume Knob switches between Parallel and Series combination of the 2 sets of pickups.
In the "Normal" or Up position, the pickups are in the default Parallel mode, when depressed the pickups become in Series modes producing a larger, fatter sound with more output.

This American Standard features an Alder body, finished in Candy Apple red, Bolt on Maple neck with Rosewood Fingerboard, modern "C" neck profile and standard 34" scale length.

The 2 Fender American Jazz Single Coil Pickups are controlled by independent Volume controls and master tone - and that S1 switch.
Chrome hardware - American Series Bridge and Tuners.

This Used Bass is in Very Good + condition with some light play wear on the body and very little play wear on the neck. Original Knob for the Tone Pot has been replaced.
Original Parchment pickguard has been beautifully tinted to a vintage patina.
