Vintage 40 Watt all Tube Amplifier Head featuring 2 channels - Normal and Vibrato, 6L6 power section, Fender Black Panel AB763 Circuit, in excellent condition.
1964, Pre CBS, Fender Bandmaster Black Panel Amplifier. You want a big rich clean sounds? A great pedal platform amplifier, or just turn it up until it starts to breakup on its own... Ed Van Halen did.
Van Halen famously used that Marshall Plexi of his but, along with the Plexi he used a 1963 Bandmaster Head. Originally his decision was because of volume issues he had with running a 100 watt head, on 10, in clubs. He thought that 40 watts would work better. While still LOUD, people that were there claim that it was Ed's best tone when he used the Bandmaster and, apparently, he used it for some of the first few Van Halen records.
Either way, they're great sounding amplifiers and at least half the price of a Plexi (and half the weight).
The Bandmaster features the classic Black Panel AB763 Circuit, 6L6 power section, 2 independent channels - Normal and Vibrato - each with Treble and Bass controls. Vibrato channel features controls for the Tremolo circuit - Speed and Intesnity. There's a bright switch on the Vibrato channel too.
Pretty simple, straight forwad amplifier (less is more).
This used amplifier is in excellent condition - hasn't been modded or molested over the years.
Some regular light play wear on the tolex, but again in excellent condition. Most importantly, it sounds fantastic!
The last owner just had it serviced/retubed and checked over before bringing it in. It's ready to rock for a number of years!
