USED CBS Masterworks by Pearl Chrome Over Brass 5x14 Snare Drum

Most Masterworks instruments are fairly rare with acoustic and classical guitars being the most seen on the used market. These guitars were made by notable, and respected, Japanese luthier K. Yairi.

It’s often speculated that, when CBS bought Fender in 1965, they saw the influx of Japanese made instruments making their way into the States and wanted to start having guitars made in Japan. Part of the Fender deal with CBS probably said there would be no Fenders made in Japan. Thus CBS Masterworks import name was born.
Along with the Acoustic and Classicals made by K. Yairi they had Drum kits made by Pearl Japan and Cymbals Made in Canada by the Canadian Zildjian factory.
So… this is a 70’s Pearl Chrome Over Brass 5x14 Snare drum, made in Japan with the badge “Masterworks by Pearl”
It’s basically the Pearl Jupiter Snare drum, as used originally by Stewart Copeland and others.

Overall this snare is in Very Good+ condition with no pitting or damage. Has a fairly new (recent) batter head.
