USED Burriss Switchmaster 2x12 Combo Tube Amplifier
Point to Point, Handwired 30 Watt 2x12 Combo Amplifier made by Burriss circa 2007-2009 featuring 2 switchable channels, boost on the "lead" channel, independent Master Volumes for each channel in Excellent condition.
Burris Amps Officially debuted back in 2007. At the time, they were all hand built - handwired/point to point construction by Bob and a couple other employees.
Each amplifier was then play and stress tested at Burriss before leaving the shop.
They were all extremely well built with top components and parts.
Burriss closed their doors back around 2013/2014. Burriss have since re-opened butu Bob is no longer involved, the current owners bought the name and decided to revive the name.
The 3 amplifiers in the range were... The DB Special - a Single Channel more aggressive amplifier, The Shadow - a more American big and clean sounding single channel amplifier with clean to mild overdrive.
And there's the Switchmaster - the dual channel amplifier that...
"brings both amps together as a dual-channel, foot-switchable amp delivering a clean American voice with a rock/jazz switch in one mode and a boost for solos and distortion in the other."
That's what we have here - the Dual Channel Switchmaster 2x12 Combo amplifier.
The Switchmaster features 2 Eminence Texas Heat 12" speakers, 2 6L6 power tubes and 3 12AX7 preamps.
No where in the description, from back in the day, do they mention a "Dumble" influence in the design of this amplifier BUT having the "Rock/Jazz" switch show's a little influence, at the least...
This is a fantastic sounding amplifier and acts very much like a Dumble Design.
Channel 1 is, more or less, your big American Clean channel with a 3 position bright switch. It features a 3 band EQ section with your Bass, Middle and Treble controls.
Channel 2 is your "gain" or dirty channel and has quite a bit of Gain if needed.
Here's the thing - the 2 channels are interactive - Channel 1 is always on and think of Channel 2 as your dirty preamp added to Channel 1. The volume and EQ are interactive with the volume and tone of Channel 2. Again, don't think of it as a Clean Channel/Dirty Channel amplifier - it's a Clean (ish) amplifier with a seperate dirty pre-amp that get's added to the first channel.
Note the Master Volume for Channel 1 is defeated when you're in Channel 2.
You can switch in Channel 2 by a small switch at the back of the amp or by a footswitch, that is not included.
This is a super versatile amplifier. Built like a tank, sounds great, dependable and not as expensive as something closer to a Dumble (!)
This Used Amplifier is in Excellent condition with minimal play wear/wearing on the tolex and cabinet.
