The Stone Pony has the 65Amps "Bump" front end but runs on 7591's like the old Ampegs from the 60's. These output tubes have a very unique and cool sound.

The transformers for 7591's have been optimized with the guys at Mercury Magnetics and nail the old 7591 sound but with greater touch sensitivity and much enhanced vocablulary. this amp has a very pleasant and pronounced mid-range notch that is instantly recognizable and VERY friendly!

This Stone Pony Combo features two 7591 output tubes generating 25 watts. The amp features 65’s unique "Master Voltage" ™ circuitry and knob which reduces the B+ voltage and output in the amp in an unique way by keeping a constant relationships of voltage between the power and collection grids while maintaining the filament voltage, irrespective of volume. You can dial this amp down to 3 watts output WITHOUT losing tone, feel, vocabulary, authority, etc. Pretty impressive. Translated into real world terms, with the Master Voltage ™ circuitry, you can dial in the nastiest tone, but play at “wife friendly” volumes all night long.

The BUMP ™ circuitry on this amplifier allows for six discreet levels of boost. Even dimed, this amplifier never loses its clarity, articulation, or touch sensitivity, and sound great with any fine single coil or humbucking guitar.
