1973 Hagstrom Swede in Ebony, made in Sweden.
Very Good Condition, comes with hardshell case (non original).
A very nice example of an original/vintage Hagstrom Swede (Les Paul Style) electric guitar.
Hagstrom was a pretty unique/revolutionary company back in the day, having such players as diverse as Frank Zappa (Hagstrom III, Viking), Elvis (Viking) and Larry Coryell (The Swede) playing their guitars. They developed, and patented, the H Truss Rail System which enabled them to produce electric guitars with the thinnest/fastest neck around! This Swede is a wonderful example of their designs and craftsmanship!
This features a Mahogany Single Cut body, top bound, soft belly contour on the back of the body, and a Mahogany Neck. Original Imperial Style tuners, 22 fret Ebony fret board and that slim/fast neck profile! The original nut has been replaced at some point.
Original electronics including the Les Paul Style set up with a Master Volume/Tone for each pickup, a 3 way toggle switch located on the cutaway and the additional 'tone' switch on the upper bout. Original, and excellent sounding, Hagstrom Humbucking pickups. original bridge and stop tail piece. Sounds fantastic!!
Overall this guitar is in very good condition with some light belt buckle wear on the back of the body - nothing thru the finish, minor surface wear. Some light scratch/wear on the pickguard.
Very Little fret wear.
The binding has aged to a beautiful yellow (along the neck, headstock and body) and the original ebony finish has started to age to a really nice soft black. Very little wear on the guitar - one very small mark in the finish on the top of the body near the bass side of the bridge.
This is a gorgeous guitar - looks, sound and playability! It's a shame that they're not worth more (!) but it's great for you, the buyer/player!!
