Product Description

This 1967 Ampeg Gemini I is the perfect amp for the vintage amp enthusiast who is after something different and unique, without paying a huge price! This amp packs a uniquely rich, full, warm voice entirely its own. This Gemini has two channels (one with fantastic sounding tremolo and supurbly rich reverb or "echo", and one without) and puts out a robust 22 watts into a tremendous sounding original Jensen 12 inch speaker. These amps were built with an oversized cabinet, which adds to the authoritatively full bottom end and rich low-mids, and break up significantly higher up on the volume dial than its vintage counterparts. This amp also has a few hidden features as denoted by the asterisks on the faceplate - turn the tremolo knob all the way up, and click it into "after beat" mode, which is stuttering on-off effect, and the treble boost click at the highest point on the treble knobs. These amps also employ a Baxandall tone stack - "12:00" position is flat, and the bass and tone knobs boost or cut, rather than just boosting like other amps. These steller vintage amps have been the best kept secret in recording studios for decades. This amp is in fair condition for its 55 year old age.
