The FENDER® FSR Lipstick Strat® solidbody electric guitar is a stunner. For this limited-run axe, Fender took an American Standard Strat - juicy playability and all - and loaded it with a trio of bright 'n' jangly Seymour Duncan Lipstick Tube pickups in a 4-ply aged White Pearl pickguard. Lipstick tube pickups - once the sole provenance of the humble Danelectro - have graced the notes of innumerable guitarists with their open, shimmering tone. If you've got a hankering for a Stratocaster® that's unique in both looks and tone, get ahold of a Fender FSR Lipstick Strat - while you can.

Lipstick pickups give you classic chime and jangle
If you ever caught Led Zeppelin live - or on YouTube, you've undoubtedly seen Jimmy Page wielding his trusty Danelectro. The pups crankin' out the tone? Lipstick tubes. The humble "Dano" was originally an inexpensive budget guitar, but it wasn't long before ace guitarists discovered its quirky, off-the-beaten-track sound - a function of its hollow Masonite body and lipstick tube pickups. These pickups sport an extremely simple design: no pole pieces, no bobbin - just wire wrapped around a bar magnet, living inside a metal tube. In a solidbody guitar - like the FSR Lipstick Strat - lipstick tubes produce a tighter, drier sound, with more chime and jangle. And of course, these are Seymour Duncans, so they're done right.
Juice your sustain with the American Standard Stratocaster bridge
The Fender FSR Lipstick Strat gives you serious sustain, courtesy of its all-metal, copper-infused high mass bridge block with bent steel saddles with elongated string slots. The result is a two-point floating vibrato bridge / tailpiece that serves up sustain like a hardtail. If you love your whammy, but aren't too fond of wimpy sustain, you're going to love the Fender FSR Lipstick Strat®.
Thinner body undercoat for optimal body resonance
An undercoat serves to give the paint a smooth surface to adhere to so you have a nice looking finish. The thicker the undercoat, the more glass-like the finish, but the more constricted the guitar's body wood, which could affect tone. Fender has switched to a new undercoat that is thinner, and that allows the body to flex and resonate more, while retaining the cosmetic advantages of an undercoat. The result? You get the tough-as-nails resilience of a modern poly finish, with tonal characteristics that are more in line with classic lacquer finishes. With Fender's FSR Lipstick Strat®, you get the best of both worlds.
