The Gibson Firebird™ remains one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable shapes in the electric guitar world. Originally conceived by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich, its bold lines drew inspiration from classic car styling and the Gibson Explorer™. Epiphone proudly introduces the Futura Firebird Custom-a modern interpretation of a design that was revolutionary when it debuted in 1963. Its sculpted mahogany body features elegant 7-ply top binding and a contoured back for enhanced comfort.
A LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece deliver rock-solid intonation and sustain, while Posi-Lok™ strap buttons keep your strap secure without extra hardware. The glued-in mahogany neck sports a fast-playing Modern C profile and a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and striking Super 400-style pearloid split block inlays. A 10"-14" compound radius ensures smooth chording and effortless bends. The bound Reverse Firebird headstock is fitted with locking Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and a Firebird truss rod cover bearing the Epiphone logo.
Powering the Futura Firebird Custom are a pair of Epiphone's new ProBucker™ Ignite humbuckers™, delivering punchy, articulate tone with plenty of headroom.
