Dave KirbyDave Kirby - Guitar, Ukulele

Guitarist, teacher, arranger and composer Dave Kirby was born in 1986 in Kitchener, Ontario.  Growing up he always showed a great passion for music, standing on chairs and singing songs with a toy guitar purchased for him by his parents.

Since these formative years, Dave has matured into an energetic and exciting performer.  In 2012, Dave graduated with honours from the guitar program at Humber College in Toronto with a Bachelor Degree in Music, where he had the opportunity to learn from Tony Zorzi, Emile D’eon and Rob Bulger among others.  Dave also studied be-bop for two years under the instruction of esteemed Toronto educator Howard Rees.

Dave’s initial inspiration to begin playing the guitar came from punk music, including bands such as the Clash, the Sex Pistols, NOFX, and Rancid.  While Dave’s performances often expose these roots, Dave’s playing now reflects his growing taste in a wide range of styles from blues and r&b music, to jazz and electronic music.
