Zildjian 17" K Custom Hybrid Crash
These cymbals are a combination of an outer rim in a traditional finish and a center in Zildjian's Brilliant finish, which effectively allows this cymbal to reside in BOTH the dark, and bright tonal spectrums. The hammering and lathing paterns on this cymbal vary from the traditional exterior and brilliant interior to enhance the already differing tonalities from the two cymbal regions, and the two sonic personalities of the cymbal can be brought out simply by changing playing technique. A cymbal tip striking the outside with produce a darker, more mellow tone, while the same stick hitting the brilliant center will produce a more cutting, brighter tone. A crash of this cymbal unleashes both personalities for a harmonious wash of a suprisingly wide spectrum of harmonic content.
