USED Ibanez RG550 circa 1988 Road Flare Red w/Case
One of the Original "Shredadelic" Electric Guitars from the Mighty 80's!
Ibanez did a 20th Anniversary model of the RG550 in 2007 but this is the Original.
Road Flare Red!!
The RG550 was the new shape in the RG World based on designs with Steve Vai - with what woud become the JEM - and has always been a more affordable Jem.
Features the same construction as the Original JEM - Basswood Body, thin maple 24 fret maple neck, Original Ibanez Edge Tremolo - which at the time performed as well, if not better, than the Floyd Rose.
Pickups are the original American Designed Ibanez Vintage Pickups.
Overall this Consignment guitar is in VG+ Condition.
It does a have a few wear marks - most notable are located at the back of the bridge route - see photos.
Also, ALL of these (and others from the same era) ended up with lacquer check/cracks on the body at the neck heel joint. It's cosmetic, it's become expected from these guitars.
Comes with the original molded Guitar Case.
The model and Serial Number were stickered on the back of the headstock at this time (not the neck pate) this has Lost it's serial number
We are saying it's Circa 1988 as 1987 was the first year of production and by late 1989 they had moved the location of the volume knob and added a logo to the pickup covers.
These were discontinued in 1994 (and then the 20th Anniv in 2007).
