The semi-hollow body design of the Artcore AM53 goes back to Rock and Roll’s formative years of the late 1950s and early 1960s, but this guitar features a pair of ceramic humbucking pickups that are capable of much more modern tones. The Sapele body is artfully finished in a matte burst with cream binding which also nicely dresses up the rosewood fretboard-sporting mahogany neck. A bare bones, no nonsense approach to manufacturing results in the beautifully simple yet highly useful stop tail piece, adjustable bridge, three-way toggle switch, and simple master volume/master tone knob configuration.
